LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

The Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund (RIIF) has been one of our long standing priorities. This session we were able to secure more funding for different aspects of RIIF! Dam Mitigation and Water Trails increased by $500,000 to a total of $1.5 million, and the Water Quality Initiative increased by $3 million to a total of $8.2 million!

CLEAN CREEK FESTIVAL

We had an amazing turnout for the Clean Creek Festival on Saturday, June 11. Thank you to all of our volunteers who showed up to clean Indian Creek and Thomas Park. We are very grateful for all of our community partners who came together to make this event happen and cannot wait to be back next year!

LETTING RIVERS RUN

Letting Rivers Run is a story by Haley Knudsen and Nate Hoogeveen. It is in the Spring 2022 issue of Iowa Outdoors, which is Iowa DNR's Magazine of Conservation and Recreation. It is a fantastic article explaining the importance of removing low-head dams!

We had a wonderful paddle with ICON through the city of Johnston! Thank you to the city of Johnston and their mayor for being river champs!
